Our client, a large enterprise Pharmaceutical company, historically handles 1000+ FDA and EMA inquiries annually, including regulatory requests and questions regarding clinical trial protocols and results. Responses to each query typically involved approximately 200 SME hours to craft responses, with an average team of 5 MDs and PhDs spending ~1 week contributing to response review and drafting workshops.
To address this challenge, we developed a tool with a user-friendly UI, leveraging generative AI technologies including GPT 4 and Gemini. By training the tool on a dataset of past FDA and EMA query responses, we enabled it to autonomously generate accurate and contextually relevant responses to new inquiries. This tool was able to address the “blank page problem” by having AI generate possible responses, which could then be validated by SMEs in 25% of the time previously needed.
The implementation of our AI-driven tool yielded remarkable results, saving the scientific team an impressive 75% of their typical workload. This substantial reduction in time spent on crafting responses allowed the team to allocate their resources more efficiently, enhancing team productivity and allowing these SMEs to be repurposed within the R&D and Regulatory teams.
